A student support service available to students at Allen Community College is the Writing Center, a free tutoring service that helps students with the writing they are assigned in their college courses, as well as other kinds of writing they do.

The term "Fake News" has become increasingly popular since the 2016 Presidential Election. Creating and disseminating falsified, exaggerated, and often malicious news stories is becoming increasingly common. Many Fake News stories popping up on the web are politically motivated. However, the spectrum of content included in fake news stories ranges from politics, health, lifestyle, education, and just about any topic you can imagine. Sifting through all of this information and ensuring that you are using quality information for both academic and personal research is imperative. Libraries are on the front lines of Fake News combat. We designed this guide so that you can do a better job of assessing information and determining its credibility.
